The blackoutpoet story
blackoutpoet is born
blackoutpoet was born in 2015, at the kitchen table of an apartment in Stockholm, Sweden, with a couple of old books and a black marker.
The idea was to create something to hang on the poet's own wall – but during the process she realised how much she enjoyed creating these little poems, and it became a type of meditation and creative expression.
The Community Grows
After receiving compliments from friends and family she thought, 'hm, could it be that other people might find joy in these little pieces of found poetry?,' and so the instagram account @blackoutpoet came to be!
After countless evenings of creating poems, conversations with followers and fun collaborations, the poet realised there might be space for her poems to grow from an Instagram wall to actual walls across the globe.

And so we land here, at blackoutpoet.art, where the poems come alive on designs such as posters, t-shirts and bags. Recycling words into visual poetry and transforming emotional expression into wearable and shareable art.
