Are the prints on the products the same as shown on the website?

We do our best to represent colours accurately, but as each product is printed specifically for you, there might be small differences in color/print. The design however, will always be as presented.

What payment methods do you accept?

Sustainability

Why did you choose print-on-demand?

Print on demand means we only produce an item when it's actually ordered – no overstock, no waste. It's a more sustainable way to run a small creative business, and it means every piece is made just for you.

Are your products sustainable?

Yes. Our t-shirts are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton and our posters are FSC-certified or equivalent for sustainability, meaning both the materials and the production process meet strict environmental and social standards. We believe good art shouldn't cost the planet.

Is your packaging sustainable?

We urge our print on demand partners to use sustainable packaging whenever possible, however we are not able to guarantee this.

Where are your products made?

Our products are created through print on demand, meaning they are only printed once you order – no overstock, no waste. It also means they are printed as locally as possible, as orders are redirected to our print on demand partner's closest available print shop.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across multiple European countries (Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain) and the US. If your country is not listed and you would like to place an order, feel free to get in touch.

What delivery options are available?

We offer tracked standard shipping. The shipping cost is visible at check-out based on your country.

How long does delivery take?

Each order is made to order, so please allow 3–7 business days for production of your unique product, including shipping time.

Why does shipping take longer than typical online stores?

Because we don't hold stock – your item is processed and printed at the time of your order, especially for you. This takes a little longer, but it means nothing goes to waste. We think it's worth the wait, and hope you agree!

Why was my order split in multiple deliveries?

As your order is redirected to our print on demand partner's closest print shop, there is a chance that your order is split into multiple deliveries due to stock, packaging or printing capacity.

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You'll receive an email with your tracking information as soon as your order leaves the production facility.

Where is my package?

All orders are sent with tracking so you can follow your product every step of the way. You can find the tracking link for your order in your shipping confirmation email.

Why didn't I receive my order yet?

As your product is only printed once you order it, please allow 3-12 days for production of your unique art piece, plus shipping. You can follow your shipment through the tracking code in your shipment confirmation email. Has the time passed and you are still waiting for your package? Please contact us.

Returns & Issues

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because each item is made to order, we're unable to accept exchanges for change of mind. However, you may return your product up to 14 days after receiving it. Items must be unused, in original condition, and in their original packaging.

If your item is faulty or not as described, we kindly ask that you reach out to us as soon as possible.

How do I return an item?

To initiate a return, please contact us with your order number and return reason. We will provide you with return instructions. Please note that we do not offer free returns, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is proven defective.

When will I receive my refund?

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll process your refund within 5-7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method, and may take an additional 3-5 business days to appear in your account.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

We're sorry if something went wrong! Please contact us as soon as possible, with a photo and description of the issue, and we'll do our best to solve the problem. Please note that it may take up to 5-7 business days to receive a reply.

About the Art

What is blackout poetry?

Blackout poetry is the art of taking an existing text – a page from a book, a newspaper, a letter – and blacking out most of the words to reveal a hidden poem within. The result is something entirely new, born from something old.

Who creates the designs?

All designs are created by hand by our very own blackoutpoet, combining a love of language, found text and visual art. Read more about the poet and join the community!

What texts are used?

Our poet uses only recycled pages for her poems, such as thrifted books or books found at garbage disposals. The words on these forgotten pages are then recycled into something entirely new!

Can I request a custom design?

We're not currently offering custom commissions, but we'd love to hear what you have in mind. Please subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date on any news – or drop us a message and we will see if our poet has some spare time to accommodate your request!

Are the designs limited edition or always available?

Some designs are part of our permanent collection, while others are released as limited editions. We always love input from our community regarding new designs. Do you have a poem you'd like to see on a design? Let us know!
